The relationship between organizational environment antecedents and performance management in local government: evidence from Ghana

Abstract The study aimed to investigate the relationship between organizational environment antecedents and their impact on performance management among local government authorities further understand role of stakeholder political support in monitoring review governments. used quantitative research design techniques data collection phase May August 2017 Greater Accra Region Ghana. sample included 850 middle level senior managers Local Government Service. Multiple regression was analyze data. results findings indicate that there is a strong two variables: “stakeholder participation”, support, providing variance 31.8 percent changes dependent variable. However, suggest participation better predictor than support. Additionally, employees’ age, gender, size were statistically significant model fit. This one first its kind link indicators (stakeholder support) effect dimensions (performance evaluation, review). Also, few studies have structural contingency theory explaining influence internal business processes organizations literature.
